I Remember When

I remember when i was starting high school, my mum had to get me a door key cut so that i could go to and from school by myself without a probelm. I just remember feeling this surge of responsabilty run through me for quite a few weeks. I had never had a responsabilty like that before, i kept telling all my friends 'look i have house keys not just the front door but the back door too.' Looking back on it now it was rather pathetic making a big deal about the keys. But either way it was my responsabilty to look after them and not to lose them, this may seem like a small thing but all responsabilties should be taken seriously and not just like oh its a small thing it doesnt matter.

Because in the end all small things end up being bigger in the end picture. The things that you mght think are the bigger stuff are like a youth leader always being there for their youth when they need them especially when they're goin through a tough time, or even a farmer looking after his farm in the many ways he has to to keep it healthly and the animals happy. And obviously a huge thing is a pastor being there for his church in the many many ways he has to be to keep his congregation happy and fed with the love of christ.

But the smaller things you and me can do are stuff like just saying hey to that new person thats come into church today or even someone whos been there for a while and just hasnt found a friend to be around!! or even possibly just getting a cup of tea, just nice things like that can make someones day and thats a service to GOD as well so just think about all the small/big an fun things you can do for people today.

Plans To Give You A Hope And A Future

“For i know the plans i have for you, declares the lord plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

Firstly this scripture has a total relevancy to me at the moment as i am facing some decisions in my life that could change my career direction forever. But decisions dont always have to be major ones like mine they can be the smallest things ever and it can still have an impact on your life. But fear not GOD shall help us because Jeremiah 29:11 tells us that he knows what we will do in our life and what ever we decide on GOD will always bring us back to his plan for us.

This verse has been following me around for weeks and just recently it appeared in a book that i’m reading called ‘Pete’s story’ (which is amazing, i’m going to review it when i’ve finshed it). It's a true story based in Kenya on a young boy in a missionary family, Pete also shared the love of missonary work. But he unfortunatly was murdered by cattle rustlers at 19 whilst out on a mission. it's truely an inspirational story that will touch you everytime you turn the page. And i just found a few references in it that relate to this scripture.

Pete's Mum and Dad had to leave their children behind alot and obviously very hard for them to do. They had to trust GOD that they were going to be ok and they had to trust in that scripture, it was their comfort. Pete was unsettled for a long time and they got prayer for him and after that he was fine. And later went on to go into his own sunday schools and little play clubs.

In this section theres also certain phrases that reach out to me that i just love, some of these include ‘ in the tropical darkness’ and ‘giraffes freely roaming about.’ One of the things that Rachel Jackson(Pete’s mum) remarked about leavingthe children behind was that ‘it was wonderful for them to know that they could trust in the rock (GOD)’

They soon went back to England again but this time when they left they were leaving behind 3 children(Jonathan, Rozi and Colin). They managed to later find a house between Rozi and Jonathans schools (which was a miracle for them). It soon came time for jonathan to leave school and his mum mentioned that he was unsure as what to do when he left and as to what direction GOD was leading him. So he walked into a careers office and it looked hopeless for him really as no one was available for him to talk to. But then suddenly a man walked in and asked if he needed any help. The man turned out to be the top officer and he gave jonathan an hour of his time, which was amazing. The man suggested that he did a degree in building adminstration at south bank polytechnic, which he whole heartedly did. Another testimony of this scripture is when Pete’s mum turned her back for just two minutes, he had tripped and fell into a fountain pool. He came out with a few scratches and thats it. He could of banged his head or done something worse. But GOD protected him because he knew his plan for him.

So i believe that if you put everything you have into GOD, trust, hope, love EVERYTHING. You will not be disappointed because trust me, i am and i’m getting so far into what he wants for me to do, opening doors so that i can follow.

‘I give my life to follow everything i believe in, now i surrender’
(Mighty to save) I’d just like to leave you with that.

Like A Child!

It is a common observation of mine that a child has much to say and less to think about.
They are just are just happy to be out in the free air and be with nature. Most children love animals, they love to play with them or even just be in their company.
We could learn alot from them because they fear nothing. They will trust and make friends alot more confidently.

The reason i am writing this entry is because i was inspired by this song. The song that i’m speaking of is ‘Can I Stay Here Forever’ by a canadian rock group called Starfield, i recommend their music with all my heart as it has really helped me when i’ve felt down. It has made me rejoice and sing to their songs with great delight. This song is off their first album which is self titled. They currently have three albums.
Anyway back to my point, in the song it says ‘like a child i take you at your word’ this line is so truely mind blowing to me as it is so true, if we were still children and we had learned about GOD, we would embrace it with everything we had in us.We wouldnt even think twice.

So now i find myself asking why do we let doubts get to us? and let the words and abuse of others rule over our lives.Well i’m asking you today to just be a child or see it through a childs eyes and take a chance!
Listen to GOD and take it in. Dont let what he says to you slip past you or go through one ear and out the other!
TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART,MIND AND SOUL!
