Plans To Give You A Hope And A Future

“For i know the plans i have for you, declares the lord plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

Firstly this scripture has a total relevancy to me at the moment as i am facing some decisions in my life that could change my career direction forever. But decisions dont always have to be major ones like mine they can be the smallest things ever and it can still have an impact on your life. But fear not GOD shall help us because Jeremiah 29:11 tells us that he knows what we will do in our life and what ever we decide on GOD will always bring us back to his plan for us.

This verse has been following me around for weeks and just recently it appeared in a book that i’m reading called ‘Pete’s story’ (which is amazing, i’m going to review it when i’ve finshed it). It's a true story based in Kenya on a young boy in a missionary family, Pete also shared the love of missonary work. But he unfortunatly was murdered by cattle rustlers at 19 whilst out on a mission. it's truely an inspirational story that will touch you everytime you turn the page. And i just found a few references in it that relate to this scripture.

Pete's Mum and Dad had to leave their children behind alot and obviously very hard for them to do. They had to trust GOD that they were going to be ok and they had to trust in that scripture, it was their comfort. Pete was unsettled for a long time and they got prayer for him and after that he was fine. And later went on to go into his own sunday schools and little play clubs.

In this section theres also certain phrases that reach out to me that i just love, some of these include ‘ in the tropical darkness’ and ‘giraffes freely roaming about.’ One of the things that Rachel Jackson(Pete’s mum) remarked about leavingthe children behind was that ‘it was wonderful for them to know that they could trust in the rock (GOD)’

They soon went back to England again but this time when they left they were leaving behind 3 children(Jonathan, Rozi and Colin). They managed to later find a house between Rozi and Jonathans schools (which was a miracle for them). It soon came time for jonathan to leave school and his mum mentioned that he was unsure as what to do when he left and as to what direction GOD was leading him. So he walked into a careers office and it looked hopeless for him really as no one was available for him to talk to. But then suddenly a man walked in and asked if he needed any help. The man turned out to be the top officer and he gave jonathan an hour of his time, which was amazing. The man suggested that he did a degree in building adminstration at south bank polytechnic, which he whole heartedly did. Another testimony of this scripture is when Pete’s mum turned her back for just two minutes, he had tripped and fell into a fountain pool. He came out with a few scratches and thats it. He could of banged his head or done something worse. But GOD protected him because he knew his plan for him.

So i believe that if you put everything you have into GOD, trust, hope, love EVERYTHING. You will not be disappointed because trust me, i am and i’m getting so far into what he wants for me to do, opening doors so that i can follow.

‘I give my life to follow everything i believe in, now i surrender’
(Mighty to save) I’d just like to leave you with that.
